Kenzie Stanford is Georgia Southern University student who is excited about beginning her senior year in the fall and her future after college.
Stanford is a communications studies major from Alpharetta, Ga., who originally came to GSU on a soccer scholarship. During her time in Statesboro, she has grown to love the university.
“I played at GSU for my freshman season and then decided I wanted to put my focus into my future career and started working with the sports department at the radio station,” she said. “I loved GSU from the start, and Statesboro has become home to me.”
Stanford now serves as sports director at 91.9 The Buzz. She says that over the years she’s spent in college, she has learned many things that have helped her to grow and develop as a person.
“College has really taught me how to manage my time. It has made me more independent and shown me that getting involved in things that I love to do really opens up doors to great friendships and new interests,” she said.
This summer, Stanford is looking forward to beginning an internship at Turner Sports in Atlanta.
“I really hope to make that a career after college. I want to have a career in the sports field in some way so I can make my passion a career. I truly believe that if I had a career like that, then I would never feel like I was working, but just doing what I love to do,” she said.
