Charlton County 43, Screven County 6

    FOLKSTON — Dwhite Dasher ran for a 34-yard touchdown and threw for five more, as the No. 1 ranked Indians of Charlton County took it to the Gamecocks of Screven County Friday night, 43-6.
    Charlton County (11-0) opened the second half with an onside kick and went on to score 20 third quarter points to pad their lead at 36-0.
    The Gamecocks lone score came in the fourth quarter when senior quarterback Chris Pye hit Darion Carter on a 56-yard touchdown pass.
    The Indians registered 379 yards on offense and threw for 229. Dasher was 14-for-27 passing.
    The Gamecocks trailed 8-0 late into the first half before the Indians scored to make it a 16-0 halftime lead. Charlton would add another score in the fourth quarter to end the scoring at 43-6.
    Screven ends its season at 6-5 under new head coach Pat Collins. The Gamecocks were held to 208 yards of total offense.
    Charlton moves on to host Dodge County next week in Folkston.

Johnson County 34, Portal 6
    WRIGHTSVILLE — The Portal Panthers trailed 6-0 at halftime, but Johnson County exploded for 28 second-half points on their way to a 34-6 win over PHS in the first round of the state playoffs Friday night.
    The Panthers turned the ball over four times and the Trojans  (8-3) scored four third quarter touchdowns in the win.
    Johnson quarterback Cedric Rawlins rushed for 81 yards and threw for 174 yards and threw for three touchdowns. Wide receiver B.J. Murray caught two touchdowns, one of 50 and one of 25 yards.
    The Trojans scored on their first three possessions in the third quarter, holding the Panther offense to two straight three-and-outs and a lost fumble. Sophomore Joseph Ware scored the lone touchdown for PHS in the fourth quarter.
    The Panthers end their season at 4-7 under first year head coach Justin Chester.
    Johnson County will continue to the second round where they’ll face Brookstone in Columbus.
