NASHVILLE — The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets faced the No. 1 seed out of Region 1-AA , the Berrein Lady Rebels, Wednesday in the first round of the 2010 GHSA Class AA state softball playoffs, and fell short in the road doubleheader 6-0 and 12-2.
Ansley Rushing and cierra Clark led the Jackets offensively on the day, finishing the series a combined 7-for-13. They each scored a run in game two.
Rushing and Hannah Denmark, both seniors, will be the only two players who will not return for the 2011 season.
With a bulk of the team returning, the future looks bright.
SEB coach Aimee Civalier started five freshman Yellow Jackets in the state playoff series.
Berrien will face the winner between No. 2 seed Morgan County out of Region 4-AA and No. 3 seed Vidalia out of Region 2-AA next Wednesday.
SEB eliminated on the road
