LOUISVILLE — Doug Flott scored two goals to lead a balanced attack as the Southeast Bulloch boys defeated Jefferson County, 5-1, Tuesday night.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 2-2 on the season and 2-0 in Region 3-AA.
    Sophomore midfielder Patrick Chambers put SEB up 23 seconds into the game, booting home a through ball from junior Sean Healy. Healy made it 2-0 about 15 minutes later, redirecting a free kick from senior Caleb Simmons into the goal from about six yards.
    Flott put Southeast up 3-0 30 minutes into the game, converting a pass from Healy for his first goal of the season. Flott gave SEB a 4-0 halftime lead with a shot into the net off a corner kick by Healy.
    After Jefferson scored to make it 4-1, senior Cody Hanna completed the scoring with a penalty kick after Cole Carter was taken down in the penalty area.
    The Yellow Jackets play Dublin Friday at 7 p.m. at Mill Creek Park.

SEB girls soccer beats Jefferson County
    LOUISVILLE — Netanya Saurez scored two goals to lead Southeast Bulloch High School's girls' soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Jefferson County in a Region 3-AA game Tuesday.
    Kaitlyn Wyatt and Morgan Friend each had an assist for SEB (3-1, 3-0). Goalkeeper Alexxus Hammonds made five saves.

SHS girls soccer defeats S. Effingham
    GUYTON — Regan Thomas scored two goals, and Tori Thompson and Chelsea Wilson each scored to lift Statesboro High School's girls' soccer team to a 4-0 victory over South Effingham in a Region 2B-AAAA game Tuesday.
    Thomas and Thompson each had assists. Goalkeeper Makalya Patterson made five saves for SHS (3-1, 2-1).

BA girls win, boys lose at tennis
    AUGUSTA — Bulloch Academy split with Westminster at the Newman Tennis Center on Monday. The BA girls won, 5-0, and the boys lost, 1-4.
    In girls’ singles action, No. 1 Ally Cheshire topped Amy Chan, 8-4; No. 2 Meghan Barber defeated Lindsey Williamson, 8-5; and No. 3 Anna Mallard beat Ana Grimm, 8-1.
    In doubles action, McKenzie Webb and Caitlin Barber beat Mallory Walters and Katie Steward Schaffer, 8-2, and Claire Hiller and Lyndsey Wasdin beat Carley Rhoden and Haley Meeks, 8-4.
    Cody Lanier was the only BA boy with a victory, beating Marshall Paulk, 8-4, at No. 1 singles.

SEBMS girls beat Burke Co. at soccer
    Southeast Bulloch Middle School's girls' soccer team (2-1) beat Burke County, 6-0, on Friday.
    Goalkeepers Monica Schubert and Kat Chase helped the Yellow Jackets to their second shutout in a row. Rayna Cowart and Cole Robertson each scored two goals, while Monica Shubert and Autumn Batchelor scored one goal each. Meghan Judy led the team with two assists.

Screven girls win, boys lose at tennis
    SYLVANIA — Screven County High School's girls' tennis team beat Effingham County, 4-1, on Tuesday.
    Lovie Sheppard won, 6-1, 6-1; Mallorie Boswell won, 6-1, 6-1; Haley Mock and Jancey Durrence won, 6-2, 6-3; Pamela Wooten and Kari Lane won, 6-1, 6-4.
    Screven's boys lost, 3-2, to Effingham County. Screven's doubles teams won. Sawyer Newton and Ryan Bazemore won, 6-4, 6-2; Clay Kirkland and Jacob Lariscy won, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5.
    Screven's girls are 7-1, and the boys are 3-2.

SEB beats Metter at baseball
    Southeast Bulloch beat Metter, 10-2, in a baseball game Tuesday.
    J.D. Smith was the winning pitcher. He struck out 14 in a complete-game victory.
    Tyler Epps had three RBIs, and Taylor Burroughs and Gauge Weaver each had two RBIs.
    SEB's junior-varsity beat Metter, 8-2.
