Prep roundup: Claxton girls, boys beat Metter

    Polly Murray scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to power Claxton to a 61-32 victory over Metter in a Region 3-A girls basketball game Friday night.
    Devonna Brewton scored 10 points for Claxton (11-4, 3-1).
    Metter (2-13, 1-4) was led by Alicia Kelly, who scored 14 points.

Claxton boys defeat Metter
    Cedric Campbell scored 15 points to lead Claxton to a 64-51 victory over Metter in a Region 3-A boys basketball game Friday night.
    Zenas Moore had 13 points, Kelsey Wilkerson added 11 points and Labron Glover chipped in 10 points for Claxton.
    Metter (8-8, 3-2) was led by Trent Thomas' 15 points. Daquan Eason had 13 points.

SEB girls top Portal
    Jasmine Roberts scored 18 points and had 11 steals to lead Southeast Bulloch to a 51-38 victory over Portal in a girls non-region basketball game Friday night.
    SEB (5-11) got 12 points from Chelsea Oglesby and 10 points from Gloria Lingle.
    Portal was led by Shian Hagins' 18 points.

Screven County girls beat Jefferson Co.
    Courtney Roberts scored 21 points to lead Screven County to a 59-51 victory over Jefferson County in a Region 3-AA girls basketball game Friday night.
    Courtney Burns had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Screven County (11-6, 4-1), and Destiny Brewton chipped in 13 points.

Portal boys edge past Southeast Bulloch
    Akeem Oglesby and Robert Lee scored 18 points apiece to lead Portal to a 62-58 victory over Southeast Bulloch in a boys non-region basketball game Friday night.
    Cory Reese added 11 points for Portal (15-1).
    SEB was led by Preston Smith's 16 points. Devante Tremble had 14 points and Blake Lundy added 13 points.
