DOUGLASVILLE — The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets saw their playoff run come to an end Tuesday on the road at top-seeded Chapel Hill, falling 50-33 in the first round of the GHSA Class AAA state playoffs.
It was the Lady Jackets' first trip to state since 1992.
Chapel Hill was aggressive, taking it to the rim and drawing enough SEB fouls to foul out two Yellow Jackets and attempt 46 free throws.
Jasmine Roberts led Southeast Bulloch with 15 points, and Philicia Batton added 11.
SEB made a run of it in the second half, but in the end, was out-scored 31-25 in the final two quarters as the Lady Panthers lived at the free-throw line.

SAVANNAH — The Screven County Lady Gamecocks opened the soccer season with a shutout on Tuesday, beating Groves on the road, 2-0.
Hannah Jones and Kayla Chance did the scoring for the Gamecocks (1-0), who return to action today at Jefferson County.
