Local Roundup: SEB football keeping busy during summer

COCHRAN — Many Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets are spending June at a variety of football camps, including some put on by Mike Hodges at Middle Georgia State College.
Hodges, former offensive line coach at Georgia Southern, puts on camps for quarterbacks, wide receivers and offensive linemen.
The camps attract hundreds of players from all over the Southeast.
At the  quarterbacks and wide receivers camp, SEB quarterbacks Jaylon Wells and Caleb Carter, and receivers Michael Davis and Javarius Spaulding, were selected to complete in the camp's final competition.
At the offensive line camp,  which welcomed more than 500 players, SEB linemen Nick Joyner, Tyler Collins, Weston Edenfield, Shawn Paul Allen, Chase Ruarks and Austin Cowart were selected as camp competition finalists.
In the team wave drill, Southeast Bulloch finished second out of 80 teams.
The “wave” drill team for SEB included Collins, Allen, Jacob Jackson, Ahmaad Fields, Cowart, Ruarks and Edenfield.
For voluntary workouts in Brooklet, SEB has been averaging nearly 70 boys. During the month of June, the Yellow Jackets have been focusing on weight lifting, agility exercises and voluntary passing workouts.
