Many great pitchers go their entire career without ever coming close to a perfect game. For Bryan County’s Tiffany Howard, there are two to reflect on from this season alone.
    The Lady Redskins’ senior ace has been in top form this season. Howard has a 9-3 record and twice has made her way through a game without allowing an opponent to reach base.
    Many pitchers would love to have Howard’s resume, but she is more focused on games to come.
    “I really don’t think about it much,” said Howard. “I couldn’t tell you how many (perfect games) I’ve thrown. Every time I get the ball, I just go out there and try to get us a win.”
    There have been plenty of wins so far this season for Bryan County (14-6, 7-1 Region 3-A). The Redskins currently reside at the top of the region standings and are setting their sights on the postseason.
    “We definitely have the goal of making it back to state,” said Howard. “As a senior, I’m trying my best to help lead us there. I’m comfortable pitching in the big situations we’ll be in.”
