Bulloch Academy’s Mark Rocker signed a golf scholarship Thursday to Armstrong Atlantic State University. Armstrong Atlantic State University, located in Savannah, Ga., is a member of the Peach Belt Conference in NCAA Division II.     The 2008 3-A All-Region baseball team was announced this past week.
    Brett Rivers and Derrick Finch made the squad from Portal. From Jenkins County, Boyd Sasser, Zac Clark, Justin Lanier and Caleb Chance were named.
    From the co-champion Claxton team, Kelvin Goodson, Matthew Rogers, Harley Hendrix, John Peel, Brandon Stanfield and Kenny Deloach all had their names listed.

SprintSouth registration
    The SprintSouth AAU track and field program is still accepting registration for the summer.
    Interested applicants ages 6-18 can go to www.sprintsouthtrack.com to fill out the registration form by the end of May.

Lee Hill hoops camp
    Statesboro boys’ basketball coach Lee Hill will hold a his summer basketball camp, starting May 26 and running through May 30.
    Rising 2nd through 5th graders will practice from 8-11 a.m., while rising 6th through 9th graders will go from 1-4 p.m.

BA basketball camp
    Bulloch Academy head basketball coach Chandler Dennard invites local and area boys and girls going into grades 2-5 to sign up for the 2008 Gator Basketball summer camp.
    The annual camp, conducted by coach Dennard and his staff, runs from May 27-30 from 9 a.m.-noon. This opportunity will provide campers with basic basketball fundamentals of passing, dribbling, shooting and teamwork in a manner that is both instructional and fun.
    Campers need to wear shorts, a t-shirt, tennis shoes and bring their enthusiasm and a positive attitude. All participants will receive a camp t-shirt and opportunities to win awards in various skill-level competitions.

SEB hoops camp
    The Southeast Bulloch Youth Boys and Girls basketball camp for rising 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders will be held June 2-5. The camp starts daily at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 12:30 p.m. The Camp cost is $40. For further information about registration call John Page at 823-9378. The camp is held at SEB High School.

BA Cheerleading Camp
    Bulloch Academy cheerleading coaches Kem Dennard and Kim Burnette invite local and area girls going into grades K5-fifth to sign up for the 2008 Gator Cheerleading Camp.
    The annual camp, conducted by coach Dennard, coach Burnette and members of BA’s GISA Class AA state champion competition cheerleading squad, will be held June 9-12 from 9 a.m.-noon. This opportunity gives young cheerleaders the chance to learn cheers, chants, dances and much more during the fun-filled week.
    Campers need to wear shorts, a t-shirt, tennis shoes and bring their cheerleading spirit. All participants will receive a camp t-shirt.

FUNdamental football camp
    Bulloch Academy assistant head football coach Ronnie Hodges invites local and area boys and girls going into grades 2-5 to sign up for the 2008 Gator FUNdamental football day camp.
    The annual camp, conducted by coach Hodges and several present and past BA football players, runs from June 16-19 from 9 a.m. to noon. This instructional opportunity will provide campers with basic football fundamentals in a relaxed, fun-filled environment.
    Your child will participate in groups of his/her own age and ability levels. Coach Hodges anticipates several special guests during the event. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt and opportunities to win awards in various skill-level competitions.
    The cost of the camp is $75, if paid by June 1, and $85, if paid after June 1. Campers need to wear shorts, a t-shirt, a pair of loose and comfortable cleats and bring their own water bottle.

BA Wrestling Camp
    Bulloch Academy head wrestling coach Andy Tomlin and assistant coach Travers Xanthos invite local and area boys, aged seven to 14, to sign up for the 2008 Gator wrestling day camp.
    The first-ever wrestling camp, conducted by coach Tomlin, coach Travers and several present and past BA wrestlers, runs from July 7-10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Tomlin and Travers are former Team Georgia wrestlers with NHSCA All-American honors. This instructional opportunity will provide campers with basic wrestling fundamentals in a positive and fun atmosphere. Wrestling, according to Tomlin, helps improve strength, cardio fitness, quickness, motivation, self confidence and motivation.
    Campers will receive a camp t-shirt, a daily light snack and a certificate of completion of the camp.
    The cost of the camp is $65, if paid by May 22, and $70, if paid after June 1. Campers need to wear shorts, a t-shirt, tennis shoes and a positive attitude.
