Eagle Baseball takes second straight over UL Monroe

Georgia Southern baseball scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning to defeat ULM and take the series, 4-1. The Eagles improved to 16-13 overall and 6-5 in conference play, while the Warhawks fall to 11-15 and 3-7 in conference play.
Chase Dollander picked up his fourth win of the season, allowing one run in six innings. He struck out seven ULM batters to improve to 4-1. Nick Jones came in to record the final four outs of the ballgame, earning his ninth save of the season and 10th of his career. The nine saves crack the top-10 for a season for saves.
ULM opened up the scoring in the first inning, recording two doubles to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the second, Georgia Southern would regain the lead with a Jarrett Brown single to left field. Later in the frame, Jason Swan would come home to score on a wild pitch. The Eagles would add a fourth run in the third with a solo shot by Noah Ledford to left field. 
The Eagles will look to go for the sweep tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for noon.

  • Noah Ledford hit is 10th home run of the season in the third inning, becoming the first Eagle to reach double-digit homers.

  • Nick Jones collected his ninth save of the season, moving into eighth all time on the single season saves list. 
  • Jarrett Brown finished the day 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Georgia Southern and ULM will conclude the three-game set tomorrow afternoon at J.I. Clements Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
