The Georgia Southern men’s basketball team will play an exhibition game on Friday, November 5th at Hanner Fieldhouse.
The game with Fort Valley State will follow the Georgia Southern-The Citadel volleyball match with an approximate start time of 8:30 p.m. Admission for both the volleyball and basketball events is one dollar and all seats are general admission.
The volleyball match begins at 6 p.m.
Lady Eagles to "Dig Pink" Thursday
In support of breast cancer education and awareness, Georgia Southern University Volleyball plays host to its annual Dig Pink match on Thursday, October 28. The Eagles welcome Southern Conference South Division rival Furman to Hanner Fieldhouse at 6 p.m.
The Eagles, partnering with the Side-Out Foundation for Dig Pink, join over 1,000 schools nationwide including 236 colleges and eight other conference schools supporting the cause.
All proceeds from Thursday’s match will be donated to the Side-Out Foundation, which in turn awards grants to medical research organizations and entities dedicated to providing compassionate support to breast cancer patients and their families.
In conjunction with the event, the Georgia Southern Volleyball team will be at the Russell Union on campus Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. selling pink Georgia Southern Volleyball t-shirts. The t-shirts are $13 and can also be purchased during the match on Thursday. Fans are asked to sport pink to the event to show their support for breast cancer.

Tickets to a Georgia Southern Volleyball match are $5 for adults and $1 for children (ages 3-12). Tickets may be purchased by calling 1-800-GSU-WINS or at the Hanner Fieldhouse ticket window which opens one hour before first serve.
CY to speak in Savannah
Georgia Southern men’s basketball coach Charlton Young will speak at the Greater Savannah Eagle Club Business Luncheon on Thursday to give Eagle fans a preview of the 2010-11 season.
Sponsored by the Georgia Southern University Office of Alumni Relations, the luncheon will be held at the Johnny Harris Banquet facility at 1651 East Victory Drive in Savannah.
Serving lines open at 11:45 a.m. The program begins at 12:20 p.m. and the luncheon concludes at 1 p.m. The cost of the buffet is $10 per person, which includes the meal, sweet tea, dessert, tax and gratuity.
Due to NCAA regulations, students in grades 9-12 are not encouraged to attend this Eagle Club event.
