Georgia Southern's men’s basketball team will return from a holiday break for a game against the Auburn Tigers at 7 tonight in Auburn, Ala.
The game will be televised by CSS and broadcast by the GSU Radio Network.
GSU (3-7) is looking for its first win over a power conference foe since a win over South Carolina in 1992 when the Eagles won, 82-69. Last season, GSU took Auburn to overtime before losing 88-84.
Sophomore Eric Ferguson (Statesboro) leads GSU with 14.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Ferguson is also the Eagles’ top shot blocker with 10 blocks in the season’s first 10 games.
Senior Ben Drayton III has 11.9 points per game and leads the team with 15 steals.
Auburn (8-3) is on the heels of consecutive losses to Long Beach State and UTEP in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Frankie Sullivan has 13.7 points per game to lead the Tigers, while Kenny Gabriel has 8.1 rebounds per game. Gabriel also leads the team with 27 blocked shots per game.
GSU will return to Statesboro for its final non-conference game of the regular season at 7:30 p.m. Monday against Brewton-Parker at Hanner Fieldhouse. The GSU women will play Wofford at 5 p.m. in a Southern Conference game.
