    Alabama kicked off the 33rd  Annual Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club on Friday with a record-setting performance. The Crimson Tide shot 268 (-20), setting a new tournament record for lowest score in a single round. No Alabama player recorded a bogey on the day. Alabama leads the field after round one.
    Florida and Ole Miss are tied for second at 280 (-8), followed by Auburn in fourth (-6) and Virginia in fifth (-5). Kentucky, North Florida and UAB are all tied for sixth (-2), with Notre Dame (+1), and South Carolina (+5) closing out the top 10, in ninth and 10th, respectively.  Georgia Southern is in 11th (+8), Minnesota is in 12th (+12), N.C. State is 13th (+13) and Vanderbilt sits in 14th (+16) going into today's second round.
    Ben Kohles of Virginia leads the field individually, shooting 65 (-7) on Friday. Justin Thomas and Bobby Wyatt of Alabama, Joe David of Ole Miss and Blayne Barber of Auburn are all tied for second after shooting 66 (-6).
    Georgia Southern shot 296 (+8), but showed its youth in round one.
    “We shot really well today, we just couldn’t hit any putts,” GSU head coach Larry Mays said. “If we can sink some putts, we’ll be in great position for the next two days.”
    Scott Wolfes (St. Simons Island) leads the way for the Eagles. The freshman is tied for 24th after shooting 72 on the day, even par.
    Next for GSU is Blake Olson (Pensacola, Fla.) who is tied for 36th, shooting 73 (+1) after round one.
    GSU's Hayden Anderson (Knoxville, Tenn.) is tied for 48th after shooting 74 (+2).
    GSU's Zach Hartman (St. Simons Island) and Lewis Gruber (Tallahassee, Fla.) are tied for 66th, both shooting 77 (+5) on Friday.
    GSU's Will Evans (McDonough), Matt Mierzejewski (Alpharetta) and Charlie Martin(LaGrange) played individually for the Eagles.
    Evans is tied for 18th after shooting 71 (-1) on the day. Mierzejewski is tied for 66th, shooting 77 (+5), and Martin is 81st, shooting 82 (+10).
