Frank Hook honored for continued service
GSU New

The Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation honored longtime University fundraiser Frank Hook today with a plaque recognizing his 41 years of service and numerous accomplishments to Georgia Southern University and Georgia Southern athletics.
The newly-refurbished lobby of the Cowart Building, home of the Athletic Foundation, will now be called the Frank Hook Lobby.
"For what you have done for this institution, I couldn't think of a better way to honor you than for anybody that walks through the door to see this lobby and that it is dedicated to you for all your efforts," Athletics Director Tom Kleinlein said.
Hook added after the reveal, "I am just humbled and grateful. At the bottom of my heart I have a deep passion for Georgia Southern. I don't have words other than to say thank you."
Hook joined the Athletic Foundation in January of 2011 as the Director of Donor Relations and served as the Interim Foundation President in 2013-14. He graduated from Georgia Southern with a bachelor's degree in Recreation in 1971 and began working at the school in 1985. He served as the President of Southern Boosters for 10 years before taking over the role of Director of Alumni Relations in 1995, a position he occupied for 17 years. In 2008, he was named the College of Health and Human Science's Alumnus of the Year.
Hook, who will continue his work in his current role as the Director of Donor Relations of the Athletic Foundation, is married to Mitzi Hook and the couple have two children, Chad and Chris, and four grandchildren.
