A strong showing in the consolation game of the region tournament earned the Bulloch Academy girls basketball team a No. 3 seed in the GISA state tournament, but their playoff stay was a short one, falling 37-28 on the road at Westminster on Tuesday evening.

Abby Newton was the only Lady Gator to reach double-digits as she scored 10, with Regan Ellis adding five points and only four other Gators notching points.

The Bulloch Academy boys hope to fare better as they tip off their state playoff campaign tonight. As region champions, the Gators are a top seed and will host Westminster at 7:30 p.m.
