Rufus Devine Jr., 65, entered into eternal rest at his residence in Statesboro on Sunday, December 30, 2018.
    Rufus was born February 10, 1953, in Bulloch County to Rufus and Feolia Devine. He was educated in the public schools of Bulloch County and he was of the Baptist faith.
    Rufus was united in marriage to the former Lois Parker. To this union, three children were born.
    He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents, three brothers, Louis, Daniel and U.L.; two sisters, Louise Mills and Joann Bacon.
    He leaves to cherish precious memories: two daughters, Debra Devine and Stephanie Devine; one son, Rufus Devine III (Nerrica), all of Lakeland, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Shandasia, Daquawn, Dashaunt’e, Shambria, Shane, Jordan, Tatiana, Tayshawn, Rufus IV, Takeirra, Zackary and Harmony; four great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Ariana, Cory Jr. and Carter; five sisters, Betty Devine, Bobbie J. Jackson, Elnora Lovett (Stanley Collins Sr.) and Sara (Russell) Byrd, all of Statesboro; Mamie Warner (Anthony Coaxum), Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Steve (Michelle)Devine, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Jimmy (Lynn) Devine, Statesboro, Ga.; brother-in-law, Nathaniel Mills; several other relatives and friends.
    The funeral service and interment: 1 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, in the W.H. Whitaker Memorial Chapel of Whitaker Funeral Home in Metter followed by burial in Old Mount Pisgah Church Cemetery, Bulloch County.
    Viewing: Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home in Metter.
