Mr. Otis Odom
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Otis Odom, age 72, passed into rest Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility.
    The native of Denmark, South Carolina, was the son of the late Malachi and Emma Lee Johnson-Odom.
    Otis received his formal education from Voorhees High School Class of 1968 and attended the Voorhees College, where he earned a certificate in plastering.
    He was employed by NIBCO/Sunbeam until his retirement.
    At an early age, Otis joined Capernaum Baptist Church in Denmark, S.C., and remained a faithful member.
    After relocating to Statesboro, Georgia, he became a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Register, Georgia. He loved singing and he became a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Male and Senior choirs.
    He loved his church family and he enjoyed singing.
    He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Cassie Mae Odom, Statesboro, Ga.; three daughters, Otisa Odom, Denmark, S.C.; Felisa “Evette” Rice, Bamberg, S.C.; and Tiffany (Kenny) Reed, Statesboro, Ga.; four sons, Shaun (Pamela) Jeffery, Waldorf, Md.; John (Tracey) Coleman Jr., Statesboro, Ga.; Elex Odom and Eddrick Odom, both of Idabel, Okla.; one bonus son, Dewayne Coleman, Statesboro, Ga.; his sister, Lucille Odom-Kearse, Blackville, S.C.; an adopted sister, Laura Smalls, Denmark, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Ceonia “Cam” Odom, Atlanta, Ga.; 10 sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
    A walk-through viewing for Mr. Odom will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, from 4 p.m. 7 p.m. at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
    The funeral service for Mr. Otis Odom will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Hill’s Mortuary Chapel Pondside with the Rev. Gregory Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
