Mrs. Rollene Sprayberry Tucker
LEEFIELD, Ga. -- Mrs. Rollene Sprayberry Tucker, age 65, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Rollene was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and was a graduate of Lithonia High School. Following high school, she attended Berry College.
    Rollene was employed by Corps of Engineers for several years and in 1981 she began her career with the Social Security Administration as a claims representative. She married Scotty Tucker that same year.
    In 1985, they moved their family to the family farm in Leefield. Following her move, Rollene worked in the Savannah, Vidalia and last the Statesboro office of the Social Security Administration, where she later retired following a total of 32 years of service.
    She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. Rollene’s enjoyed sewing, but her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.
    She attended New Hope United Methodist Church.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Sprayberry; and her husband of 19 years, Scotty Tucker.
    Surviving are a daughter, Neena Tucker of Leefield; a son, Robert L. Tucker of Atlanta; her mother, Barbara Sprayberry of Lithonia; a sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Steve Hudson of Stockbridge; her grandchildren, Valerie Perkins, Scotty Perkins, Laila Stewart and Karter Stewart; her sister-in-law, Claudette Tucker of Savannah; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hubert and Sonya Tucker of Peachtree City; and a nephew, Hunter Hudson.
    The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
    The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Bob Allen officiating. Interment will be in Lanes Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Hunter Hudson, Ed Akins, Spencer Perkins, Edwin Stewart, Garrett McKinney and Robert Brown.
