STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Joseph Addison “Joe” Hart Jr., age 91, passed away in the early morning hours on Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility.
The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1944 graduate of Marvin Pittman High School and later attended Georgia Teacher’s College.
Joe served in the United States Army with the 680th Engineer Company. Throughout his life, Joe has been a farmer. Additionally, Joe was active with the Bulloch Telephone Cooperative and had served on the board of directors for 46 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Statesboro.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. Hart Sr. and Pearl Brundage Hart; his loving wife, Mary Ann Rushing Hart; a daughter, Angie Cynkar; a granddaughter, Carrie Cynkar; his brother, Rex Hart; and two sisters, Ruth Edwards and Alice Hart.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Danny Blissett of Statesboro; a son, Joseph “Joey” Hart III of Statesboro; his grandchildren, Jeff Cynkar and Jeremy Cynkar and wife, Kelly, of Gainesville, Fla.; Joseph “Addison” Hart IV, and his fiancee, Carly Rosborough; Caleb and Ashtyn Brown and Jordyn Blissett, all of Statesboro; his great-grandchildren, J.J. and Ashli Cynkar, Ava and Layla Brown and Joseph “Jace” Addison Hart V; and four sisters, Mary Ross of Statesboro, Evelyn Bird of Portal, Jewell Trunell of Cochran and Carolyn Bryant of Jacksonville.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. H. William Perry and Dr. John Waters officiating. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cynkar, Jeff Cynkar, Addison Hart, Larry Lee, Danny Blissett, Richie Bryant and Steve Rushing.
Honorary pallbearers will be the board of directors and employees of Bulloch Telephone Cooperative.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Georgia 30459.
