    DUBLIN, Ga. -- Mr. James Perdue Jr., age 71, passed away on Wednesday night, June 6th, at Serinity Hospice, Dublin, Ga., after a brief illness. He was a native of Bulloch County, a member of Brannen Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the William James High School Class of 1965.
    He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War.
    He is survived by two sons, Anthony Hunter (Tangaleria), Roto, Spain;  and Calvin Hunter, Lawrenceville, Ga.; grandchildren, Breanna Hunter, Chole Hunter and Cindy Hunter; a great-granddaughter, Pheonix; a sister, Minister Hannah Perdue, Statesboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
    The funeral service for Mr. Perdue will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Elm Street Church of God with the pastor, the Reverend Dr. Alexander Smith Sr., as eulogist and Minister Jerry Humphries, presiding. Burial will be on Monday, June 18, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Glennville, Georgia 30427.
    Public viewing will he held from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the very caring, compassionate, capable and professional  staff of James R. Barnes Mortuary.
