Joseph Ronald White, 61, of Brooklet, and husband of Darlene Williams White, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
Born in Savannah, he was a son of Joseph White and Helen (Ellis) Hayslip.
Mr. White was of the Church of God faith and had worked until retirement as a meat cutter at Publix Supermarkets.
He was a loving husband, brother and father who was dedicated to his family, enjoyed fishing for blue gill and loved his work. He was the epitome of a “blue collar” guy in that he believed in hard work and devotion to those most important to him.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene White of Brooklet; a son, Jeff White of Brooklet; two daughters, Susan Broughton (Paul) and Melissa White, both of Statesboro; his sisters, Barbara Hogan (Tommy) of Rincon, Lynn Mathews (Joe) of Statesboro, Linda Mandelik (Kurt) of Sylvania; half-sisters, Delia White of Rincon and Jo Ann Mason of Colorado; and his brother, Robert “Bubba” White of Statesboro; grandchildren, Taylor White, Zachary White, Skylee Broughton, Ryker Broughton and Jake Bunn; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at East Main Church of God on Thursday, November 29, 2018.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at East Main Church of God in Statesboro. Interment will follow in Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
