Dolly Loretta Poland Shannon, 85, died August 8, 2018, at Azealaland Nursing Home.
She was born October 5, 1932, in Hundred, W.Va., to the late Charles and Grace Poland.
She married the love of her life, Eddie Shannon, on August 18, 1951. They traveled extensively with the Air Force, settling in Savannah, Ga., when Eddie retired after serving for 20 years.
She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Grace Poland; and infant son and daughter.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Edwin Shannon; daughters, Robin (Tom) Kersey of Brooklet, Ga.; and Pam Shannon (Doug Stone) of Savannah, Ga.; grandchildren, Shannon (Kevin) Jackson of Port Wentworth, Ga.; Victor (Shannon) Polero of Pooler, Ga.; and Erin (Brad) Watkins of Hiram, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: Saturday August 11, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
The memorial service: Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 2 p.m. in Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Locklear officiating.
