Victim “sliced” during hold up
Statesboro Police Department patch

A woman suffered minor injury Tuesday night when a man jumped into her car and held her at knifepoint.

The victim left the parking lot on Fair Road near Dollar General and Arby’s, then drove to Pitt-Moore Road, where she pulled over to make a call on her cell phone, said Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.

As she was parked, an unknown man “jumped into the car with her,” produced a knife and demanded her money and cell phone, she said.

The woman had no money, and it was unclear whether the man took her cell phone before he left the car and fled, she said.

During the ordeal, the woman suffered a “slice to her arm” and was taken to the hospital by a friend, Warren said.

Police did not release the suspect’s description,. The case is still under investigation, she said.
