The newest walking/biking trail in the City of Statesboro was officially named Tuesday in honor a longtime educator and preacher. Through a proclamation passed by Statesboro City Council, a nearly 1,000-foot paved path that stretches from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Church Street, in downtown's Luetta Moore Park, is now the Rev. Julius Abraham Trail. Abraham, 80, is a South Carolina native who spent his entire professional life — more than 30 years — teaching Statesboro children in the Bulloch County school system, as well as ministering at several community churches.
