A musical interpretation of one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most challenging creations – the painting of “The Last Supper” – will be presented by the Maritime Ministry Players at performances on Thursday and Friday at the Averitt Center for the Arts.

The popular musical is produced by the Maritime Bethel in Savannah and the entire production is based on an original concept by Andy Krey, chaplain and executive director of the Maritime Bethel in Savannah.

“After 17 successful years of productions all over the United States we are very excited that Statesboro is welcoming “The Last Supper” at the beautiful Averitt Center,” Krey said. “This is a wonderful interpretation of Jesus’ last days on earth and we are thrilled that Bulloch County has so warmly welcomed us.”

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. both Thursday and Friday. All tickets are $15. Call (912) 826-0206 for ticket information or go online to www.maritimebethelatsavannah.org.

All proceeds from the production are given to fund the work of charities including The Maritime Bethel at Savannah and the Ogeechee River Baptist Association.
