Steve Price named area manager for Georgia DOT Statesboro office

               Georgia Department of Transportation District Engineer Bradford W. Saxon, P.E. announced recently that L. Steve Price was selected to serve as GDOT's area manager for the Statesboro Area Office, which covers Bulloch, Effingham, Candler, Evans and Screven Counties.
        Price began his career with the GDOT in 2000 as a construction inspector before advancing to construction project manager and assistant area manager for construction in the Statesboro office.
        Also, Price has served as district environmentalist, district environmental compliance engineer and most recently served as agronomist manager in the State Maintenance Office.
        As Statesboro area manager, price is responsible for 39 employees, overseeing all construction projects, routine maintenance activities, and emergency operations on interstates and state routes in the service area.
        "Mr. Price has extensive knowledge of the department's construction and maintenance programs and goals," Saxon said. "His diverse background and experience will help him to successfully lead the Statesboro Area Office in meeting the needs of the citizens, businesses and visitors in this region of Georgia."
        Price graduated from Clemson University in May 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management. He and his wife Kaye of 29 years have lived in Statesboro for the past 28 years where they raised their children, Steve Price, Jr., 26, and Timothy M.E. Price, 24.
