Coworkers of a Statesboro Fire Department firefighter battling a recent diagnosis of leukemia are banding together to help raise funds and support their fellow firefighter. Deputy Chief Ronnie Shaw, a 30-year veteran of the department, learned he had leukemia after a heart attack last month. He is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia, as well as recovering from the initial heart attack, said SFD Chief Tim Grams.
