"Maybe it's just me, but it seems that all the psychiatrists and psychologists I come in contact with seem to need psychologists and psychiatrists."

"I wanna thank Statesboro for bein' so screwed up. In the phone book you can't numbers for anything. I moved from Register to Statesboro a month ago and I wanted to find out where I could vote and they tell me I had to walk all the way back to Register. I hope all the candidates I was gon' vote for loses for one. And I wanna let everybody in Georgia know you nuthin' but a bunch of Communists!"

"Let's please not send Saddam Hussein to hell. Let's put him in a cell for the rest of his life, make him watch the rematch of Georgia Representative John Barrow and Max Burns television ads. That would be hell enough."

"If I had Max Burns' home telephone number, I would let him know he lost my vote only because his recorded campaign message tied up my private telephone on a daily basis. I did not appreciate this lack of consideration on his part."

"With the Republicans losing the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, it makes you wonder if … Max Burns might have been able to knock off John Barrow if President Bush hadn't … done so many campaign events for … Max Burns. Max Burns lost the seat by 6,000 votes. It seems like if Bush hadn't come in here to Statesboro to … campaign for him, that Max Burns really would have had a shot at winnin' the seat. But, it didn't go that way, did it?"

"It is now the Democrats' responsibility to help us win the war in Iraq. Let's see what you can do about it."

"This is in response to the individual who called … stating that Georgia Southern's enrollment was up. In fact — I hate to disappoint you — but I believe the enrollment is down greatly this year and … I think that's why they haven't reported it."

"It is rather easy to understand what has happened to the Georgia Southern Eagle football program. It is not the players. It is not the coach. It's because Nate Hirsch is no longer the voice of the Eagles. If he was there on Saturday, the Eagle would be flying high."

"I would like to know why the Homecoming queen has not been in the paper. When the white queen won, she was in there that Saturday or that Monday. Could you please put her picture in the paper?"

"Okay, Democrats, you have won everything! Now let's see the change and the improvement and everything becoming wonderful. You got two years."

"I am sure the terrorists are laughing. We cannot even unite behind our commander in chief."

"Yes, Bush is president of all of us. However, his visit here was strictly a partisan, political visit, not a personal visit. For this reason alone, those of us who did not support his candidate should not have our tax money used for such an event as it certainly was. And by the way, those several hundred thousand of dollars spent to bring him here were rather unsuccessful, weren't they?"

"Holli Bragg really hit the nail on the head the other day when she talked about the illegal aliens in this country. I don't think any of us would have a problem helping them if they were here legally. The operative word is illegal."

"Two weeks ago there was a vandalism at Southeast Bulloch High School due to Homecoming. There was nothing in the paper about this that happened. And it was kept a secret. And it was said that the vandalism took place … was done by all white children and a few parents. There was nothing said about it. It wasn't put in the paper. It wasn't put on the radio. And I'm just wonderin' why it was kept from the public. And we're also wonderin' had it been black children, would it have been the other way? Think about it, Statesboro."

"I voted for John Barrow for many reasons, but I would not … I would have voted for him if for no other reason than the negative ads about him. Especially the constant phone calls that began, 'I want to tell you about John Barrow...' And then they would go into negative remarks about him. Hopefully Max Burns will forget running for office forever."

"We made a tremendous step towards keeping Bulloch County beautiful when we kept John Barrow for our congressman. And how 'bout Nancy Pelosi? Wow!"

"How can anyone be happy about another big enrollment increase at GSU? It probably will create a few more low-paying jobs, but what about the increased traffic and congestion? Maybe they should concentrate on the increase in quality, not quantity."

"Hey, you fickle Georgia Southern football fans. Athletics is comparable to farming. You have good years and bad years. The team needs greater support when losing than when winning. And players need to show enthusiasm and hustle all the time. Support the team, win or lose."

"Hallelujah! The Democrats are going to raise the minimum wage and even more jobs will be sent overseas. One more time and we'll all have to move to Mexico or Thailand to find a job."

"I hope people realize what will happen if the minimum wage is raised. The same thing that will happen … that happened last time it was raised. The price of everything else will go up to off-set the cost. Don't … Don't lay all the blame on businesses. They have to make a profit to stay in business without laying people off. The working poor won't have anymore money in their pockets than before. The only ones who truly benefit from the raise in minimum wage are the labor leaders, who take a percentage of their members' salaries."

"I feel sorry for those horses carrying those two cowboys in that picture. They look more like the Pillsbury Doughboys. If they wanna raise money, why don't they go on a diet and save the money from food and give it to the … sick children?"

"Why does Max Burns want a recount? He couldn't count when President Bush came and my family didn't get into Hanner."

"As a lifelong resident of Georgia, I would like to respond to the person from Register in Soundoff yesterday. Not sure why they can't read the Statesboro telephone book that is in alphabetical order. I have a bunch of … intelligent friends from Register and they seem to be able to read it. As far as Georgia being Communist, we don't have a fence around it … if you follow my drift."

"This message is for the homeowners on Brookwood Drive who had their house and lot toilet-papered on Halloween night. Don't you think it's about time  you cleaned that mess up? I know for a fact your neighbors do."

"I can't believe Finch is tryin' to get the road on Burkhalter Circle closed. These folks have lived out there for years and he's tryin' to pen them in in order to sell houses for his own benefit. He's takin' their rights away."
