After President Eisenhower was inaugurated, Harry and Bess Truman ... drove home to Missouri by themselves. There was no Secret Service followin' them. ... This fiasco of all our former presidents and families havin' to be protected by Secret Service for the rest of their lives at taxpayers' expense, is a real joke!

In today's Soundoff, July 16th, someone whines about the Herald ... printing ... what is right. Well, that's good. ... But they also print plenty liberal spewings. ... From your speech ... the Dems didn't send jobs ... your free education package ... or else you squandered it ... like everything else. Thank you and have a nice day.

I'm commentin' on the board of education needing ... a raise in taxes. I'm wonderin' if the superintendent and some of the high-paid people out at the county office would be willing to give up ... some of the big salaries their makin'. And furthermore, they're talkin' about other money. What about all these days the teachers are out and subs are paid and the teachers are paid at the same time? Have they looked at that? ... I ... I don't understand why they need any more money. I mean, they got all these beautiful schools. They must have money somewhere.

If we are here to help others ... I wonder for what purpose the others are here.
