Shooting sends victim to Savannah hospital
Case remains under investigation

Statesboro police are still investigating a shooting Saturday night that sent a man to a Savannah hospital.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to his stomach and back in a shooting that took place at The Lodge Apartments on Institute Street around 4:45 p.m., said Statesboro police Capt. Jared Akins.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers located the male victim and Bulloch County EMS took him to Memorial Health Medical Center in Savannah, he said. The man remains in stable condition.

"Detectives and patrol officers processed the scene and canvassed the area of The Lodge for witnesses and evidence," he said. "At this time, the case remains under investigation."
