Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man they said stabbed a woman in the leg during an argument.
Eduardo Aquirre-Puenede, 27, Cypress Lake Mobile Home Park, Register, was intoxicated when Deputy Richard L. Reed arrived at a Cypress Lake Road location around 2 a.m. Sunday in response to an aggravated assault call, according to Bulloch County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Capt. Todd Hutchens.
Aquirre-Puenede was involved in a physical fight with a woman when the woman’s sister tried to break up the squabble, he said. During the melee Aquirre-Puenede stabbed the intervening woman in the leg with a  knife, he said.
The stabbing, as well as the physical fight with the other woman, took place in  the presence of small children, he said.
After speaking with the complainant and victim, Reed located Aquirre-Puenede and took him into custody, charging him with aggravated assault, simple battery (family violence), third degree cruelty to children, and possession of a knife during the commission of  a crime.
In addition to those charges, Aquirre-Puenede was found to be an illegal alien, Hutchens said. Aquirre-Puenede  was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains without bond.
Sheriff’s officials also notified the Immigration Naturalization Services regarding Aquirre-Puenede  being im the country illegally, Hutchens said.
