A Statesboro High School resource officer was hospitalized after being injured Monday breaking up a fight. The 17-year-old responsible was arrested, said Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist Madison Bridges Warren. Amir Saqwuan Forrest of Highway 80 West was charged with simple battery against a school system employee, obstruction, disrupting a public school, and affray (fighting), according to the officer “The officer was performing his regular duties when he encountered two subjects in a verbal altercation,” she said.
