Lee DeLoach's estimate that voter turnout in Bulloch County would exceed the state average and may top 53 percent got off to a good start Tuesday morning.
Bulloch's election chief had to make a trip before 8 a.m. Tuesday to the Brooklet voting precinct to deliver more computer ballot cards due to large crowds. Poll workers commented that they had never been so busy that early in the morning.
"Get ready for a busy day," DeLoach told his workers.
Despite the rain around Bulloch early Tuesday, reports of crowded precincts were coming in from everywhere.
While waiting times to vote probably wouldn't exceed more than 5 to 10 minutes in some locations, elections officials urged patience.
Polls in Bulloch and across Georgia are open until 7 p.m. tonight.
