A Portal man was killed Thursday morning in a single vehicle crash on Ponderosa Road.

Marc Hodges, 23, of Two Chop Road, was driving his 1996 Ford Explorer on Ponderosa Road around 2:45 a.m. Thursday when he lost control in negotiating a curve, according to a Georgia State Patrol report.

Hodges was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected as the Explorer flipped over, the report states. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to his obituary, Hodges graduated from Portal High School in 2010. After graduating, he worked as an automobile tint specialist.
