Statesboro police arrested a man Wednesday on child pornography charges after a months-long investigation that began in 2014.
Roland Brown Jr., 25, of a Myra Street address in Portal, is charged with sexual exploitation of children/possession of child pornography, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said in a news release.
Det. Kevin Wadley, assisted by the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, executed a search warrant at Brown's residence Wednesday, Turner said.
"The investigation began in 2014 under the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force: a multi-jurisdictional agency," he said in the release. "Detective Wadley, the ICAC affiliate for Statesboro Police Department, conducted the investigation with the help of both state and federal law enforcement agencies."
Brown is accused of downloading and possessing images and videos of children suspected to be under the age of consent who are involved in sexually explicit conduct, Turner said.
