▲ Last week, troopers investigated 26 crashes with 15 reported injuries. Troopers arrested 20 drivers on DUI charges.

▲ Troopers also issued the following: 26 citations and three warnings for seat belt violations, four citations and three warnings for child restraint violations, and  40 citations and 66 warnings for speeding.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Over the weekend, officers issued 22 traffic citations and 19 traffic warnings and assisted 16 motorists.

▲ SOUTHERN PINES — On two separate occasions, a person was judicially referred to university authorities for discipline regarding an alcohol violation (underage drinking). No one was arrested.

A third call involved an alcohol violation and fake ID, and that person was also judicially referred.

▲ RECREATION ACTIVITY CENTER — Officers responded to a report of an injured person.

▲ COLLEGE OF EDUCATION — Someone reported a felony theft.

▲ CENTENNIAL PLACE APARTMENTS — On two separate occasions, officers investigated a report of a suspicious person/activities. During one investigation, a person was judicially referred to university authorities for discipline regarding an alcohol violation. No one was arrested.

A third call about false identification and alcohol violation also ended in judicial referral.

In a separate call, someone reported a vehicle was broken into, with a felony amount of items (unlisted in reports) stolen.

▲ AGENCY ASSISTS — GSU officers assisted the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office on a call on Veteran’s Memorial Parkway, and the following calls for Statesboro police: Parrish Drive, Veteran’s Memorial Parkway, Lanier Drive Super 8 Motel, Stadium View Apartments and Southern Downs.

▲ C LOT — A person was judicially referred to university authorities for discipline regarding an alcohol violation. No one was arrested.

▲ SOUTHERN COURTYARD — Someone reported an incident of interference with government property.

  A separate caller reported a rape that is being investigated.

▲ UNIVERSITY VILLAS — Someone reported a suspicious person/activities. Also, a person was judicially referred to university authorities for discipline regarding an alcohol violation. No one was arrested.

In a separate case, a person was arrested for marijuana possession.

In a separate call, a person was judicially referred to university authorities for discipline regarding an alcohol violation/public intoxication. No one was arrested, but the person was escorted off the property.

In yet a separate case, another person was also judicially referred to authorities and not arrested over an alcohol violation.
