Police report - 7-24-15; A man's fiancee and ex-wife argued, then fought

STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests/citations

Elizabeth Carr Edwards, 47, Madeline Way — DUI, failure to maintain lane, endangering a child while DUI.

Wardale Cosper, 27, Institute Street — theft by taking automobile (felony).

Khira Lee Wolfe, 30, North Taylor Court — theft by shoplifting.

 

Incidents 

SOUTHERN VILLAS — A woman told police she and her sister argued, then began pushing each other. She was given information on taking out a warrant.

INSTITUTE STREET — A man was arrested on charges of stealing a silver 2004 Chevrolet Impala. It was recovered on Gentilly Road.

WAL-MART SUPERCENTER — A woman was arrested for shoplifting three items of clothing valued at around $20.

GROOVER LANE — A woman told police that her baby's father struck her on the back and head. He was not at the scene. Warrants for simple battery will be sought, reports stated.

 

BULLOCH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Arrests/citations 

Joseph Charles Beavers, 20, Aberfeldy Street, Port Wentworth — probation violation.

Jonathan Brian King, 31, Interstate Circle, Bloomingdale — aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects.

 

Incidents 

RUSTY ROAD — A man's fiancee and ex-wife argued, then fought. One threatened the other with comments about using a stun gun, but a witness said he saw no such weapon.

BULLOCH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE — A man reported receiving unwanted texts from his former superior regarding the complainant being fired from work because he used the word "negro." The other man told deputies  that the complainant was fired for using derogatory racial slurs referring to both blacks and whites and that the fired employee began sending him unwanted texts first. The complainant showed texts from his former supervisor but had deleted his replies to the man.

ADEN LANIER ROAD — A man suffered a fractured skull and three broken ribs after being accosted by a man with a sledgehammer. The offender and two women followed the victim and another woman, stopping them. The female offenders blocked the female victim while the male offender attacked the male victim with the sledgehammer. Deputies met with the victims at the hospital and learned that the offender is the female victim's ex-husband. This incident is not the first, as there have been several confrontations in the past, according to reports.
