Police report, 2/23/19
A resident reported that after hearing his dogs “going crazy and barking” he went outside and found the door open on his wife’s SUV. Nothing was noted missing, but a phone charger was found on the grass nearby.

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ HIGH COTTON DRIVE — A resident reported that after hearing his dogs “going crazy and barking” he went outside and found the door open on his wife’s SUV. Nothing was noted missing, but a phone charger was found on the grass nearby. 

▲ U.S. 301 NORTH AND OLD RIVER ROAD — A deputy issued a woman a ticket for driving 80 mph in a 55 zone.

▲ U.S. 301 SOUTH — A deputy responded to a call about people fighting at Nash Finch around 3 p.m. Thursday. Deputy advised all parties involved of “services and remedies” available.

▲ VERA LANE — A deputy assisting the Georgia State Patrol with a motor vehicle accident reported that a driver had left the scene and was found down the road sitting on a tractor. The Sheriff’s Office deputy detained the driver, whom a GSP trooper eventually arrested on multiple charges, including DUI and failure to report an accident.


➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ BERMUDA RUN — An officer responding to a criminal trespass call Thursday at Market 100 apartments handcuffed, searched and transported to the county jail a man who, the officer reported, had been issued a criminal trespass notice at the location eight days earlier.

▲ SOUTH MAIN STREET — A woman reported that someone punched her in the face during an argument. The victim refused medical treatment and, noting no visible injuries, the reporting officer advised her of the warrant process. 


➤ Georgia Southern University Police

▲ Officers issued four traffic citations and two traffic warnings and assisted four motorists.

▲ PAULSON STADIUM — Damage to property was reported.

▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING, BUILDING 5 — Someone reported a suspicious person or activities.

▲ MALECKI DRIVE AND AKINS BOULEVARD — Someone reported a suspicious person or activities. 

▲ FOUND PROPERTY — Reported at Bishop Fieldhouse and M.C. Anderson Pavilion.

▲ AGENCY ASSISTS — University officers assisted the Statesboro Police Department at Parking Lot E and the Georgia State Patrol at Georgia Avenue and Rucker Lane on separate calls.
