Police report, 2/16/19
A woman said someone from “City Cash” offered her a loan. They sent her a check for $786 and asked her to cash it and send them back money, but she did not. The check was fraudulent.

▲ FLORENCE AVENUE — A woman said someone from “City Cash” offered her a loan. They sent her a check for $786 and asked her to cash it and send them back money, but she did not. The check was fraudulent.

▲ MILLER STREET EXTENSION — Someone reported a burglary.

▲ TURF ROAD — A man told deputies that on two occasions he questioned men in a vehicle with a tag number that came back to a Midway address.  Both times the men were seeking a man they called by name, but whom the complainant said was not a neighborhood resident.

▲ COLLEGE PLAZA — A man called police to report another man showed a gun during an argument over a parking space. The other man denied having a gun.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Officers responded to a dispute between a woman and her children’s father, but she said it was only verbal.

In a separate call, a woman said someone with whom she argued removed her Playstation from the home without permission.

▲ SONIC/BUCKHEAD DRIVE — A woman said someone called the business and threatened to beat up her juvenile son.

▲ WAL-MART SUPERCENTER — A person was arrested after shoplifting $98 worth of merchandise.

▲ WOODLAND DRIVE — A man told police a person was making unwanted advances towards him.

▲ SOUTHERN CROSSING — A woman called police after engaging in a verbal dispute with an unknown man.

▲ THE LODGE APARTMENTS — Police responded to a minor physical altercation.

➤ Georgia Southern University Police

▲ Officers issued no traffic citations and no traffic warnings and assisted four motorists. 

▲ On three separate occasions, someone was judicially referred to university authorities for discipline over an alcohol violation. The locations were J Lot, Georgia Avenue and Centennial Place. None of the offenders were criminally charged.
