Police report, 10/16/18
A man complained about horses on his property. He said several people in the area have complained several times about the horses damaging gardens and yards.

INCIDENTS

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ HIGHWAY 24 — A couple involved in a physical fight were both arrested.

▲ STILSON-LEEFIELD ROAD — A man was arrested after reportedly pointing a gun at someone’s head. He showed deputies where he had hidden the gun prior to their arrival, and the gun was recovered.

▲ CLITO ROAD — A man complained about horses on his property. He said several people in the area have complained several times about the horses damaging gardens and yards. No contact was made with the owner, but deputies notified animal control, who were familiar with the complaints. The complainant showed officers and deputies three horses in his field.

▲ OAKWOOD DRIVE — A woman reported damage to her car that deputies said appeared as if someone tried to pry it open.


➤ Statesboro Police Department 

▲ BERMUDA RUN APARTMENTS — A person reported a wallet stolen from a vehicle.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — A woman reported the theft of a gaming system, games and controllers from her apartment.

▲ FAIR ROAD — A person reported a debit or credit card stolen.

▲ VARIOUS LOCATIONS — Police responded to 11 crashes between Friday and Sunday.


➤ Georgia State Patrol Post 45

▲ Last week, troopers investigated 22 crashes with six reported injuries. They charged six drivers with DUI and apprehended one wanted person.

▲ Troopers also issued eight citations for seat belt violations, three citations for child restraint violations, and 13 citations and 33 warnings for speeding.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Officers issued 16 traffic citations and eight traffic warnings and assisted two motorists.

▲ J LOT — Someone reported property damage.

▲ F LOT — Someone was arrested on marijuana charges.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Instead of being criminally charged, a person was judicially referred to university authorities for disciplinary action regarding a DUI under 21 charge and possession of a fraudulent ID. 

In a separate call, officers assisted Statesboro police.

A third call resulted in the arrest of a person on charges of possession of a controlled substance, failure to maintain lane and wanted person.

▲ SOCCER/TRACK FACILITY — Officers responded to a call about damaged property.

▲ SOUTHERN PINES APARTMENTS — One person was arrested on marijuana charges, but in a second call, a person was only judicially referred to university authorities for discipline, not criminally charged.

▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING — Two calls came in about suspicious persons. One report was unfounded.

▲ CHANDLER ROAD — Officers assisted Statesboro police in an unspecified call.

▲ THE GEORGE APARTMENTS — Officers assisted Statesboro police in an unspecified call.
