Police Report, 1-1-14: A man struck a victim in the head with a child's scooter.

    Mohammad T. Bhuiyan, 33, Hawthorne Court — simple assault, simple battery.
    Michael Cameron Jackson, 25, Madison Meadows Apartments — cocaine possession, expired tag, DUI.
    Timothy Ricardo Covington, 33, Henry Street — cocaine possession.
    Matthew James Mitchell, 22, Sunview Drive, Newnan, Ga. — DUI (second offense), open container, failure to maintain lane.
    Dewayne Terral Jackson, 27, Johnson Lane — wanted person.


    ST. CHARLES PLACE APARTMENTS — A man told police around 8 p.m. Thursday that his ex-girlfriend called and texted repeatedly after he told her to stop.
    STATESBORO — A person was reported missing between 3 p.m. Dec. 20 and 10 p.m. Wednesday. Angela Marie Chassereau, 27, listed as homeless, was reported missing by a relative from Oklahoma who has not spoken to the victim since Dec. 2.
    CARMIKE CINEMA 12 — Officers responded to a simple assault complaint around 5:40 p.m. Dec. 23. The victim was given information about the warrant process.
    THE LODGE APARTMENTS — A man was arrested around 1:46 p.m. Thursday for involvement in a domestic dispute in which a victim suffered visible injuries.
    BOARDWALK APARTMENTS — A man was arrested around 9:45 a.m. Thursday after a physical altercation over his getting up so a woman could visit her family in another state. They also argued over her not taking a dog with them. The woman suffered visible injuries to her eye.
    ECHO WAY — A man was arrested around 10 a.m. Friday on outstanding warrants after police responded to a domestic dispute. The offender struck the victim in the head with a child’s scooter. The offender said he was attacked by the victim as he walked to check his mail.
    BUTLER STREET — A man went to the hospital, where he met with police around 7 p.m. Friday and said he was stabbed by a woman. He was treated for the superficial injury, but the woman was not found. Police are investigating.
    PARK PLACE APARTMENTS — A man was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after breaking a window and trying to get into a woman’s house.
    HAWTHORNE COURT — A woman told police around 3 p.m. Saturday that her husband held her arms and prevented her escape from the home. The man was arrested.
    WAL-MART SUPERCENTER — (Northside Drive East) Three juveniles were arrested around 4 p.m. Sunday for shoplifting $162 worth of food and clothing.
    DONALDSON STREET — Officers responded around 9 a.m. Tuesday to a reported dispute in which a man argued with his wife over the treatment of their adult daughter.

    NEWTON’S MOBILE HOME PARK — A woman told deputies around 2 a.m. Sunday that she was pushed and choked by a man as she walked a friend home. She said she might have passed out because she awoke back at her home.
    COWBOY WAY — (Portal) Deputies responded around 3 a.m. Sunday to a home after a man said two suspects tried to fight with him. The suspected offenders said the complainant had been told to leave a social gathering because of his disruptive behavior. He said he walked to the complainant’s yard because the complainant was arguing as he left the party, but did not enter the yard. Witnesses supported his claims.
    Deputies returned to the same residence at 6 a.m. Sunday after a different complainant said he argued with another male, who threatened him with a kitchen knife. The complainant in this call told deputies he grabbed a pair of scissors in self-defense. A witness who tried taking the knife away suffered a small cut to her finger.

    Because of the holiday break, reports will be unavailable this week.
