A Statesboro man is recovering from injuries he received Saturday evening when his girlfriend stabbed him in the back, police said.
Statesboro Police Capt. Scott Brunson said  the man is in stable condition after being admitted to East Georgia Regional Hospital Saturday night
Cynthia Annette Armstrong, 47, Spruce Street, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, according to police reports.
Officers responded to West Inman Street around 7:55 p.m. Saturday and met with the victim, who was transported to the hospital by Bulloch County EMS.
Police reports state Armstrong was the man's girlfriend, but did not list reasons for the apparent dispute. Brunson did not elaborate on details of the incident Monday.
The victim was treated for the injuries and then admitted for further treatment, but police said the injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening. Privacy laws prohibit release of further information about the victim's condition.
After being taken into custody, Armstrong was taken to the Bulloch County Jail where she remained Monday without bond, according to jail records.
