Exercises set for May 15 at Hanner
Perdue for web
Gov. Sonny Perdue

Gov. Sonny Perdue will be the keynote speaker for the spring commencement at Ogeechee Technical College. Graduation exercises are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15 inside Georgia Southern University’s Hanner Fieldhouse.

“(Graduation) is such a special time for students and their families,” said Dawn Cartee, president of Ogeechee Tech. “We are always mindful of providing a dignified, yet exciting atmosphere in which to receive recognition and a degree, certificate or diploma. Having the governor here will make the event even more special for our candidates.”

Raybon Anderson, Georgia Department of Transportation Board member and local business leader, will introduce Perdue.

“We appreciate the opportunity to utilize Hanner Fieldhouse to allow us to comfortably accommodate as many family and friends as possible for the event,” Cartee said. “Other venues which were used in the past often overflowed, but we should have plenty of room for anyone who wishes to attend our ceremony to celebrate with their graduate.
