Bulloch County sheriff's deputies used Tasers on a man they said was threatening others with a knife on Saturday at a Martin Lanier Road home.
William Wylie Conder, 58, of Martin Lanier Road in Nevils, was charged with battery, third-degree cruelty to children and disorderly conduct after an elderly woman suffered a cut during a scuffle between him and another man, according to Bulloch County Jail reports.
Deputies were called to the home around 8:20 p.m. Saturday and arrived to see two people in the windows, calling for help and motioning them inside.
Conde was found, belligerent and intoxicated, with a knife in his hand as he shoved an elderly woman, deputies reported.
When deputies ordered Conder to stop, he cursed them and made obscene gestures, so a deputy deployed his Taser. One barb became loose, and Conder continued advancing toward the deputies, so a second one deployed a Taser and subdued him, reports stated.
The altercation occurred in the presence of children, according to reports.
Conder was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he awaits further court hearings.
