A Millen man is in the Screven County Jail after his ex-wife told police he molested their 13-year-old daughter.Jimmy Lovett, 36, of Parker Estates in Millen, is charged with child molestation and sexual battery, according to reports by Sylvania police Lt. Tony Taylor.The Sylvania woman who is now divorced from Lovett said in reports that her 13-year-old daughter recently shared information about incidents that took place last August in which Lovett touched her inappropriately while the mother was in another state because of a family emergency.Taylor reported that the woman said she was married to Lovett at the time and said her daughter confided that Lovett “kicked out” family members who were staying in the home while the mother was away.The teenage girl also said Lovett “would come into her room during the middle of the night, while she was asleep, and get into bed with her. He would then touch her, too,” police reports say.The girl’s mother also told Taylor that her daughter said similar incidents happened while the mother was home asleep, before the couple divorced.Lovett is being held in the Screven County Jail, awaiting further court appearances.Taylor said the investigation is ongoing.Holli Deal Bragg may be reached at (912) 489-9414.
