The Statesboro Kiwanis Club named longtime member and past president Mike Bowen as the 2007  Kiwanian of  the Year during the club’s anniversary celebration held in February. 

    The award is presented annually to a club member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and unselfish donation of time to the ideals and purposes of Kiwanis.  In addition to serving as president, Bowen has also chaired several committees over the years. 

    He has been  involved in the composition, printing, and distribution of the Fair Book ( a guide to  the club’s annual fund raiser, the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair) and dedicates numerous hours annually to helping with the planning and operation of the fair.
