A man faces charges after pulling a knife on a woman in the presence of children.

According to Bulloch County Sheriff’s Capt. Todd Hutchens, Jimmie Lee Mikell, 37, was arguing with a female when he pulled a knife on her.

No one was reported to be injured, but Mikell held the woman against her will, refusing to allow her to leave. She eventually escaped and called a relative, then reported the incident, Hutchens said.

The actions took place in the presence of juvenile children, which resulted in charges of third-degree cruelty to children, he said.  Mikell was also charged with false imprisonment and aggravated assault.

He was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains until further court action.
