A man driving a van reportedly stolen from Atlanta fled from state troopers Thursday, but a crash ended up leading to an arrest.

Georgia State Patrol Post 45 Trooper First-Class Robert Scott was patrolling with a cadet in training when they tried to stop a van for traffic violations on Interstate 16 in Bulloch County, according to a GSP spokesman.

When the van failed to stop, the cadet, who was driving, gave chase. The driver of the van, later identified as Akintunde Quantauous Warnock, of Washington Street inĀ  Atlanta, drove into Pembroke and braked suddenly, causing the cadet to crash into the van. Another vehicle was also involved in the wreck, reports stated.

Warnock, 25, fled on foot but was soon captured. He was taken to the Bulloch County Jail on charges of felony theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing/attempt to elude, reckless driving, DUI/less safe/drugs, and driving without a valid license. He is being held without bond.
