A man suspected in several Campus Crossing burglaries is behind bars as detectives continue investigating the cases.

Caleb Dwayne Dobson, 21, Lanier Drive, and Tre Jerell Johnson, 21, also of Lanier Drive, were both arrested Tuesday. Dobson is charged in the burglaries while Johnson was arrested on drug charges.

Evidence found during investigations led Statesboro police to execute a search warrant at a Campus Crossing apartment, in connection with a July 16 burglary that took place in a nearby apartment, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said.

"As a result, the detectives located property stolen during the burglary on July 16 as well as property that was stolen during three other burglaries that occurred at Campus Crossing and Cambridge at Southern," he said.

The burglaries took place between June 3 and July 16.
Dobson was arrested at the apartment, charged with four counts of burglary and two counts of theft by deception. Johnson was charged with marijuana possession because of evidence discovered during the investigation, Turner said.

"The case is being investigated by Detective Ben Purvis," Turner said. "The case is still under investigation and no further details are being released at this time."

Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact Purvis at (912) 764-9911 or submit anonymous information to www.tipsoft.com or by sending the text "TIPSSPD" followed by your message to 274637 (CRIMES). All information is strictly confidential, Turner said.
