A man and woman found a financial transaction card at a local bank last month and used it to make purchases, police said. Troy Lee Williams, 35, and Alicia Tawain Williams, 32, both of Johnson Street, found a credit/debit card at a Wachovia ATM June 24 and used it at Wal-Mart and Murphy's USA, said Statesboro Police Capt. L. C. Williams. The card owner contacted Det. Tommy Brown June 28 and reported the unauthorized transactions, stating he left his card in the ATM after he made his own transaction. Brown opened and investigation that led to the suspects' arrests July 16. Each was charged with one count of financial transaction card theft and four counts of financial transaction card fraud, Williams said. Troy Lee Williams is being held at the Bulloch County Jail on a $10,000 bond and Alicia Williams is held on a $5,000 bond, according to jail records.
